Shredding: Secure Document Destruction

What Do We Offer?

At Springfield Papers we are here to help you comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by offering a safe and secure way for you to dispose of your confidential waste. We currently collect waste from a variety of locations including Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Reading, Cheltenham and Oxford. Everything is completed to BS EN 15713: 2009, which is the British Standard for the secure destruction of confidential waste, and our processes are regulated by ongoing external audits.

Our offsite shredding service utilises our existing delivery vehicle fleet to collect your confidential documents. Some documents that should be classed as confidential include:

  • Personnel or Student Records

  • Accounts or VAT Records

  • Photocopies, Faxes or Computer Print Outs

  • Sales Enquiries

  • Invoices

  • Contracts

  • Marketing Plans

  • Banking Information.

We specialise in office and archive clearance; large scale jobs that require experience and secure document handling.

We also offer a mobile shredding service where we bring our unit to your site or office which allows you to watch your confidential waste being destroyed.

Destroying personal information helps protect against I.D Fraud and also you can have the confidence to know that everything is recycled in a legally and environmentally compliant way.

We take our environmental responsibility seriously and our unique closed loop concept ensures the lifecycle of your paper is environmentally friendly from start to finish. 100% of the waste goes for recycling – even the paperclips!

How Does It Work?

You can choose from a variety of different options, creating a bespoke package to suit your needs. We offer one-off "ad-hoc" collections, using sacks, secure bins or crates (Option 1). Alternatively, we can provide you with a lockable console and regular "scheduled" collections where we can come to you weekly, fortnightly or monthly (Option 2).

We take our environmental responsibility and sustainability seriously and our unique closed loop concept ensures the lifecycle of your paper is environmentally friendly from start to finish. 100% of the waste goes for recycling – even the paperclips!

We prefer to shred offsite because of these environmental reasons:

  • The cost is significantly reduced. Our existing fleet of delivery vehicles means that we can collect your waste whilst dropping off paper to our extensive network as part of our sustainable Closed-Loop concept. Shredding offsite uses a large stationery machine that is cheaper to use than running a mobile shredding lorry.

  • Large shredding vehicles take up a large amount of space when parking outside your organisation. Whether the lorry is in car park or on the kerb; valuable space will be used for a decent length of time. This is especially important in busy, urban locations.

  • The increased pollution as the mobile shredding lorry requires the engine to rev for a long time at a high revs. The effect of the pollutants would be especially felt around areas filled with children.

  • The large amount of noise generated by the lorry can be a problem, especially in quieter locations.

Our Drivers

Our drivers are all DBS (previously known as CRB) checked and meet the requirements of BS 7858: 2012. This means that they have been fully vetted and security checked. This includes:

  • Photo ID
  • Fully employment history checked
  • Signed confidentiality agreement
  • Financial credit checks
  • Criminal Record Checks
  • Character references

The Journey of Your Confidential Waste

The confidential paper comes into our warehouse, it is shredded and baled in a continuous process. We then send the shredding bales to UK based Mills where it is recycled into office paper, toilet roll, tissue and other useful goods.
